Stacy Ferguson
President

Stacy was born and raised in Centerville, Ohio. She went to The Ohio State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in English Education. Upon graduation, she moved to Hershey, PA where she taught gifted support for three years. In 2007, she moved with her husband, Gavin, to Sacramento, California. In California, she has taught high school English in Davis, in Antelope, and in Roseville, where she still lives and works today. Stacy has two sons: Connor born in 2012 and Theo born in 2016. She welcomed her second daughter, Zoe, in 2019. Sadly, in August 2015, five days after her due date, Stacy discovered that her second child and first daughter, Phoebe, had passed away in utero. Losing Phoebe had a tremendous impact on Stacy. With her husband, she decided to form Phoebe’s Fund, a charity to help other couples of child loss. Stacy and Gavin hope that providing support for others who have experienced a tragedy like they have will be part of Phoebe’s long-lasting legacy.

Gavin Ferguson
Vice-President

Gavin was born in Philadelphia and moved to Hershey, PA (where they make the chocolate) when he was 11. He then went to college in NYC for a double major in English and Film. He started doing morning radio in 2002 in Harrisburg, PA. In 2007, he was offered a job doing mornings in Sacramento, CA and fell in love with the city. He still hosts The Wake Up Call on 106.5 The End (KUDL) and is the movie critic for the station as well. Gavin has two cats and got married to his long-time girlfriend Stacy in 2010. They had their first son, Connor, in 2012; their second son, Theo, in 2016; and their second daughter, Zoe, in 2019. In August 2015, they tragically lost their first daughter Phoebe when they found out she had died in-utero five days after her due date. Since then, Gavin has dedicated large parts of his time to helping families who have also suffered from pregnancy and infant loss. He's a member of the local support group Sharing Parents and the Vice President of Phoebe's Fund, which raises money to provide grief counseling for parents like him.

Kristin Capritto
Legal Counsel

Kristin is an attorney and mediator who was raised in Southern California but has called Northern California home for the last two decades.  In addition to her law degree, she has bachelor degrees in political science and philosophy, as well as a master’s degree in conflict resolution.  Kristin has long been committed to advancing awareness for women’s issues, and once she met Gavin and Stacy in the process for forming Phoebe’s Fund, she instantly knew her life would be better with them in it—their strength, grace, and passion to help other parents who have experienced stillbirth and neonatal loss is inspiring and infectious. Kristin’s life revolves around her rescued bulldog, Bentham, with whom she lives in Sacramento.

Michele Williamson
Advisor

Michele grew up in the greater Sacramento area in the house her parents still live in today. In 2000, she graduated with a major in Business Administration, Marketing, and minor in Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento. She built a successful career in sales in a few different industries including Pharmaceutical Sales. Michele now lives in Rocklin with her husband, daughter, dog, and cat. Michele and her husband, Timothy, lost their first child, Derek Michael, who was born still after 40+ weeks of a perfect pregnancy. They went in for a routine doctor’s appointment to discuss delivery, and they found out he no longer had a heartbeat; he had taken his last breath two days after his due date because of a knot in his umbilical cord. Michele delivered him via C-section; he was 7 pounds and had a full head of brown hair. After her daughter Hailey was born in 2015, Michele “retired” to be a stay-at-home mom to Hailey. Keeping Derek’s memory alive is one of her highest priorities. Since there is so little she can do for him, serving on the board for Phoebe’s Fund is, in her mind, comparable to serving on his parent teacher committee or volunteering at his school. Raising awareness for stillborns and connecting with families going through this horrible time is one way to honor her son.

Susan Bungay
Business Outreach

Susan Bungay is originally from Calgary, Canada. She grew up in a military family, moving often, until finally the family happily settled in western Canada for Susan’s middle and high school years. She moved to California to attend college, graduating from Sacramento State with a degree in Marketing, and made Sacramento her home. She’s worked in radio in Sacramento since 1996, joining Entercom in 2012, often working closely with Gavin and the Wake Up Call. The very best part of her life is as Mom to Alexandra and Carson, mother-in-law to Antonio and grandmother to Parker. Pregnancy loss is something that touches so many and happens more often than many speak about, so being a part of Phoebe’s Fund, an organization that helps families find healing after devastating loss, is truly an honor.
